Freestone, dressed as a kid in a cape with a hood, loved the make-up Golda put on him because it made it look like he couldn't open his mouth to eat candy. Ha ha, Freestone.
Judging by the search history on our computer, Golda was going for a Day of the Dead look. She had googled "Mexican Skeleton make-up," and also, "modest, easy Halloween costumes." We are so lucky to have this beautiful girl as a daughter.
Ari morphed from Little Pink Riding Hood to a rock star. She rocked it. She rocks everything.
Bambi and the scary Mexican skull girl. Someone painted whiskers on Tizzy, and it was only hours later that Coco pointed out that deer don't have whiskers. We should have known that! It's not like we're city folk. There are real, live deer in our yard every day. We even saw a buck today!
Still an octopus? See that snaggle tooth? Hey, don't octopi have one snaggly tooth? Fitting! Xanthe's tooth fell out tonight when she was trying to open a bag of chips with her teeth. Finally! It's been jutting out at a disconcerting angle for weeks. Now Xanthe has a cute little gap. She was scared to go in her room tonight because the Tooth Fairy might pop by. Which reminds me...
That is a lot of kids! I get chills sometimes when I think that we were fortunate enough to have SEVEN kids. I am SO glad they're all here. If they weren't, I would still be missing them. It's so satisfying and comforting to have everyone safely under our roof. Even if they all look frightening in this picture.
Tizzy said "Golda" today! Everyone's first word is Golda! How about Mama!?
This handsome man took us all trick-or-treating, or as Ptolemy liked to say, "I need some candy-ing!" In his precious lion costume, he would barge up to a neighbor's door and say, "I need some candy!" Or, if the person was really lucky, he would shove his way to the front of the crowd and let out a big, scary roar! Then he'd say, "I'm a lion! I need some candy!" We met up with Josh and Emily and did our usual route, visiting with our neighbors and running into friends along the way. It was a gorgeous night and all the neighbors' houses were done up with twinkle lights in orange and purple. We live in such a story-book place.
After trick-or-treating, there was this going on in our basement...and all around the house and yard. Great kids, though. I heard a lot of thank you's for the David's pizza and the party in general. Everyone was polite except for this girl, apparently...
She might be a vampire.

Beautiful children, scary or not! The only thing that makes me want more children is when I look at YOUR family! Love you!
So cute! I love all their costumes. Golda did a great job on the make up. She is an incredible girl with a strong testimony and values. I love that she googled modest halloween costumes. Oh and Tizzy and G's pic. So cute!

I like the costumes...funny that Xanthe was scared of the tooth fairy.
Fabulous! Loved every bit of this post! I am really curious if anyone showed up at your house at 4pm? So glad the whole night was fabulous, I know mine was. It started with a fantastic lunch!
It is so weird not to see Golda smiling in all these pics.
Happy Halloween! Love that group shot. What a fun, big family. Aren't you the luckiest?! That's all the treat you need. Well, and maybe some Reeses cups...
