On our last expedition to the trails, Freestone was mad about Ptolemy's lack of fortitude and Xanthe's puffed-up face. He said, "If you want it to be an adventure, you have to choose the right people." We chose the right people for our Deer Valley hike, although we could have used a few more kids - namely three of my daughters who were busy and Lincoln, who was sick. But at least I got an hour or so to chat with my favorite cousin on the King side while our kids figured out how best to descend a rocky slope. No matter how much we try to stay in touch, that kind of experience can't happen via text. (Although I think Sarah posted pics of us to FB as we hiked!)
So now we can say, "Remember that time we sat on the ski lift in the summertime with Alex?" Yeah, I do. It was fun, huh?
