We live in too idyllic a setting and for too fleeting a time not to take advantage of the fun things around us, especially in the fall. We happened upon a roadside pumpkin patch in our own neighborhood and just had to stop and choose some pumpkins, grown by kids from our school! Very impressive! Everyone was happy with their selections and took pictures. Not bad for ten minutes on a Tuesday night. Hey, I didn't say it had to be a big ordeal to enjoy the richness around us. Sometimes, it's the uncomplicated, unexpected, even brief moments we catch that become the most memorable. Here are a couple of others...
One of many photo shoots with the pumpkins..
Freestone with his concession meal after his big Scout dinner was cancelled at the last minute. I took him on a little excursion so he wouldn't be so disappointed. He's a cute little Scout, isn't he?
I think we had the best autumn leaves EVER this year. They have been so vivid and lasted so long. It's been glorious. I feel like I live in a jewel box. Scott took some kids for a drive up the canyon to Taggart's for a slice of cheesecake and some macaroons. I think it was a Saturday afternoon. When I ask Scott what his plans are for Saturdays, he always says, "No plans." And then he takes a bunch of kids or me or both on a hike or a shopping trip, a restaurant or a drive up the canyon. And his tabula rasa always turns into something we couldn't have scripted better if we tried. We're just glad we have these darling kids to share our adventures with. Each one is a world full of possibilities. How could every day NOT be an adventure?

I love Scott's "no plans" answer. I hope that Shane and I will be able to "plan" out our week as to have "no plans" for Saturdays so that they can be filled with time for each other and our children!
How neat that the school kids grew those pumpkins! They were neat looking too :)
The fall photo is beautiful. And your children are still very lucky:)
You guys are so good about making little memories along the way. I love your slice of life posts. That picture of the canyon is just incredible. It has been a beautiful autumn.
