More Pictures from Amsterdam

We were on the same flight over as my friend Tiffany and her darling kids. We both booked our flights the same night on the same deal. We even sat by each other!

You know who does burgers better than the Americans? The Dutch. They're everywhere, and we sampled a few.

Ruby and her Dutch parents, Alex and Cor Brinkers.
This is what you have to do to get your kid to violin lessons in Amsterdam. The effort! I guess you get used to biking. Ruby told us a funny story about biking last year with the Brinkers. They biked to Delft, and her bike was too big. She could barely reach the pedals, and she'd have to jump off whenever she stopped because her feet didn't touch the ground. Cor reminded us of the experience, and said that he had told the story to a number of friends, and they'd laughed about the American who couldn't ride a bike. Ha ha ha!
A statue representation of Rembrandt's Night Watch. It was so neat to see all the Rembrandts at the Rijks.

Our last day in Amsterdam, we wanted to go to this open house at the Nationale Opera and Ballet. They had a big sale at their gift shop, and a class onstage that was open to everyone. Man, we wished Freestone and our girls could be up on that stage taking class. It was neat to watch.

Our last meal was at Cozy by shoot, I can't remember her name. She had just opened this restaurant and bed and breakfast, and her enthusiasm was contagious. We had to dine there. Here she is in the picture. She served Scott a two-tier meal of Dutch delicacies. We ended up eating with a woman from Toronto who was there on business. She was fun to talk to. I love traveling.
And the Madrid airport!!!! We arrived at ten pm, so just in time for a Spanish dinner. And we were off on the next leg of our adventure!
