La Tour

We were hoping to get tickets to the ballet at the Opera House, but all but the most expensive tickets were sold out.

The Lindt store near the Opera had a chocolate workshop with a sink that ran pure chocolate.  I think we need one of those at our house!
Ruby and Golda brought their pointe shoes with them so they could do a little photo shoot at the Eiffel Tower.  My phone didn't do a great job taking flash pictures at night, but it was still really fun to spend an extra-long time admiring the view and taking in the fact of being right there, watching the tower sparkle.  It sparkles on the hour every hour, and we were there long enough to see it sparkle twice.  This trip, we really tried to slow down and soak in just being there so that we could close our eyes and picture it when we got home.

This one is for the Mad Hatter and March Hare, AKA Sarah and Circe, 1987

This is waiting for Bus 72, which stop along the river right below the Trocadero and takes you back to Pont Neuf and beyond.  It's a pretty ride along the Seine, and the easiest way to get away from the Eiffel Tower to almost anywhere else in the city.  Metro passes cover busses, too, so it's easy to get around, although I think the Metro is easier.  Getting to the Eiffel Tower by Metro is a bit convoluted, but we like to get off at Bir-Hakeim and walk because your approach to the Eiffel Tower grounds is pretty and less touristy than starting at Trocadero.
