So I took her to another doctor, and he put a cast on it.
See that little round thing on the side of the second bone down? That's the piece that broke off. It should be on top of that bone, but it's healing off to the side because it didn't stay put when they fixed it. Her finger might not ever be able to bend. I had this enormous pang of sorrow when I heard that, because she wouldn't be able to play the violin if she couldn't bend her pinky. The second doc talked about putting a pin in it, but the call he made was that Tizzy's little body will probably be able to heal it better than the doctor could through surgery. Thank heavens! It's such a tiny bone, and her body will compensate for the displacement, but it's part of the joint, so we'll have to see how well it recovers. Maybe she'll have to play the harp! They don't use pinkies, do they? I always wanted a little harpist in the family! :)
The cast made us all feel so much better, especially Tizzy. No pain now. She doesn't even mind that she's carrying around this club hand. She is pleased with the red color and compensates for not being able to use her fingers.
It even matches her leotard!
I think she had this very moment in mind when she chose that red cast, don't you think? Something tells me Tziporah will be just fine.

So thankful it's being given the opportunity to heal properly with her awesome red cast on it!! Glad you sought a second opinion! Wise mommy!! Praying for a beautiful healing for your future violinist/harpist! ;)
