Let It Go

Thanks to the 99 cent store, texting and Grandma and Grandpa's cupcakes, a party happened for Tizzy's birthday.  Golda stayed home from school and helped.  It couldn't have been easier or more relaxed.  These girls are just adorable!  We ate lunch, had cupcakes, opened presents, water colored, played games and just played.  Oh, and tried to unclog a kitchen sink.  No luck there, but you take the good with the bad.

I could write a whole blog on how I feel about Tziporah being three already, if I didn't have to pick up Araceli from school in 5 minutes.  This is probably the very busiest time of our lives, and in some ways the easiest.  We're out of diapers, not that diapers are a big deal, but it's a milestone.  No more scads of baby gear to take with us, yet we're just barely entering the fender-bender-high-school-college-mission-and beyond stage that will bring bigger and more complex complications to our lives.  If only we had a second to breathe a sigh of relief that life is good.  If only I had just one employee.  A full-time housekeeper, or a personal chef, or a nanny or a reading tutor.

Without a staff of helpers, it can all be summed up in Tziporah's favorite three words:  Let It Go.  Life is overwhelming, rich and bountiful, and we're running with it, letting a lot of things go.  It's OK.  It's OK.

Tziporah Elizabeth, thank you for coming to our family.  You are loved.

I'm so glad she had a fun birthday. That party looked darling - all those littles lined up on the couch. I also love the thoughts about letting things go and realizing your efforts at this stage of life are enough.
