All's Well That Ends Well

It's a sunny day and our power is back on.  I've never been so happy to do housework.  It's good to have a house to clean, organize and rehabilitate back to normal.  I don't know how everything got so messy while we weren't here, but all the dishes and clothes were dirty, for one thing. Two loads of dishes later, the fridge is cleaned of all the spoiled food and dinner is ready to take to a neighbor. The washer, dryer and kids are all doing their part to get life back in order.  Golda and Ruby had school today, but our elementary school was the only one in the district that didn't have power in time to convene today.  Lucky us!  (She said sarcastically.)  My kids have only had five full days of school during the past three weeks because of a week of early outs, three days of Thanksgiving and three lost days due to the storm.  And they get two whole weeks off for Christmas!  Wow.  There's no end to the fun!  :)

What a week--I guess things will settle back into routine--although not necessarily calm, right? Merry Christmas. We got card and letter. Thanks for thinking of us. Glad that you are all OK.

I wondered how you were faring up there! Sounds like a bit of a rough go, and yet you weathered it all like champs and kept your postive attitude. How nice to have the office basement as a back-up.

Wow- what a crazy experience. I can't believe you went so long without power! Isn't it nice to turn on the washer, dishwasher and vacuum after you've gone without power?!
