Singing

Golda has participated in some fun performances lately.  This is at the church right before the Stake Evening of Music, which is always a wonderful performance.  She was lucky enough to be able to sing in a trio that performed Beautiful Savior.  She and the other two singers and the flute and piano accompaniment sounded amazing in rehearsal.  I loved to listen to them every time they got together to practice.  The day of the performance, Golda had a really bad cold, which was frustrating because it changes your voice.  I was nervous for her, but she still sounded lovely and gave a good performance.  It's fun to hear her sing, she loves it so much.

It's also the season for school concerts.  We got to hear Golda in the band concert and a few choir concerts here and there.  The show choir, Rhapsody in Blue, is giving a benefit concert this Saturday at 7:00 at the junior high.  A seventh grader from our school has cancer and recently had a leg amputated.  The choir is trying to raise enough money to buy him a Wii or something that he can use during his long hours of recovery.  The concert is free and you can make any donation you wish.

Even though Golda's schedule is a typical teenage nightmare, it's gratifying to see her work so hard and have so many opportunities.  She has a lot of passions and interests.  The time will come when she has to put some of them aside, but for now, she is loving the experiences.  We're proud of you, Golda!
