The Glass Store

Probably waiting for Freestone at the glass store.
Choosing a land animal with Coco.
 Waiting...
 Waiting...
And finally home to the apartment!

I know I've mentioned the glass store...numerous times.  But it really needs its own post.  Freestone became enamored with glass animals and candy when he bought his first glass candy at a shop on Ile Ste. Louis.  After that, he wanted to go to the glass store around the corner about 10 times a day.  The tiny glass animals were only 3 euros each, so it was a fun little thing to buy, and easy to pack.  Each night, Free would set up his display.  He ended up with three pieces of candy and three categories of animals: air, water and land.  Here we were in one of the most famous and beautiful cities in the world and when we asked Freestone where he wanted to go, he would say, "Somewhere where I can show people my collection."  Meaning back to the apartment to bore Coco and Bill with his latest acquisition.

Freestone's Paris experience definitely included something that's not on anyone's Top Ten list of things to see in Paris.  The little glass shop didn't even have a name, really.  But it was fun to visit it, to study each tiny creation, to ponder which one would be the perfect one to add to the collection.  There were things we didn't see, but not in the glass shop.  There, we saw every single elegant sculpture.  Someday when Freestone returns to Paris, he might not care about the art glass blowing anymore.  And then he can visit the Sacre Coeur and the Louvre...unless he's interested in some other little niche.  Whatever it is, I'm sure there's a shop for it in Paris, down some crooked cobblestone side street...just waiting for a boy like Freestone to discover its hidden treasures.
