Happy Birthday, Dear Xanthe!

Xanthe decided that breakfast in bed would be fun for her birthday.  She was so excited about it, how could we say no?!  Scott got up early and made pancakes.  Our little birthday girl got a happy birthday song as her alarm clock and a delicious plate of food.
A present was also waiting, tied with balloons.  Xanthe got a big towel to use at the pool this summer.  I got it at Downeast for three dollars.  They have Pottery Barn stuff for dirt cheap, but most of it is monogrammed.  Xanthe's towel says, "Meng Seong" or something.  I told her it meant "happy beach day" in Korean.  Hey, it's a good quality towel!  Xanthe also got a dwarf flowering almond tree to plant in the front yard.  After the excitement was over at home, Xanthe went to visit Coco and Bill.  She drank chocolate soy milk and had her hair done by Coco.  It's fun to be a star!
Uncle Trajan called from Paris to say happy birthday.  Xanthe told him that she knew she was seven because she was six yesterday.  He tried to convince her that six plus one is five and that she turned five years old.  She said, "Here, talk to my mom."
Off to school!  And that's just round one of Xanthe's Seventh Birthday.  Oh wait, that's round two.  We did have a pizza party at the beach.  Did you know that pizza melts birthday candles?
