Recital Week

Recital Week.  Since we have so many dance fanatics in our family, we had 16 or 17 staging rehearsals, spread out over 5 days.  So we were gone all day and gone all night for 2 solid weeks with Oklahoma and then recital.  I love it.  It gives me just enough time to run home once in awhile, throw in some laundry, dole out some chores, feel a little guilty that the kids who are home aren't at the pool, and then we're off for another round of excitement.

 Golda and Ruby's modern.

Clytie helping Golda with her senior dance costume.  There were 4 seniors, and they all had a solo in the company dance as well as a separate dance of their own, which was adorable.  Artists with easels being playful.
Ellison and Araceli had fun in jazz this year with Emma and all their friends.

Staging the Company dance, which was incredible.  I can't even tell you how many people told me that the dance had them in tears.  Dads, grandpas, everyone bawled.  The music was a Mark Robinette arrangement of the ukulele version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow with the Kermit rainbow song and other orchestral stuff.  Seriously gorgeous, and then you add Christie's choreography and the passion of the dancers, 4 of whom were dancing together for the last time.  It was alchemy.  Just heartbreakingly beautiful.
Lots of this for teachers' kids who have to stay for hours. :)
And then there's this throwback to Oklahoma.
The Conrads posted these pictures on Facebook.  They got some good shots of Golda, so here they are.

Monday night of recital week, Scott took Golda and Ruby to Park City for an overnighter and dinner at somewhere fancy.

 Then back to staging.

We did try to jump off a few tables at Cherry Hill in between all the other stuff.
