All About Ari

Like all plays tend to do, The King and I has started to take up an obnoxious amount of time.  Play practice every night this week from 6 to 11, performances every might next week, and Ari got to be in the Farmington parade and do a performance of the musical numbers today at Farmington Festival Days.  In between practices, we dyed her hair.  Twice.  She's Siamese (Thai) in the play, so we used temporary dye to turn her hair black.  It did not work.  So we used semi-permanent dye to get it darkest brown.  Did not work.  Ari's hair is as stubborn as she is!  It's still the same color it always was!

Last night, Ari decided her costume was too small and wore one of my Chinese dresses to play practice.  She said as she got out of the car, "I'm going to tell the director that I like this costume better."  She came home after practice in her real costume and reported that the director told her, "I don't care how tight your costume is or whether you can lift up your arms.  You're wearing it."  It's nice to have another adult do the dirty work sometimes!   Speaking of which, does anyone want to try dyeing Ari's hair black again?!

What if you went with black hairspray? I think you can get it at Sally's and it turned even Matthew's hair black. Have to spray it after you style it though. Good luck, we are hoping to come!

Ari looks adorable, even if she thinks it is too tight. As for the hair, she looks perfect no matter what color!! Her hair must know it is too pretty to change.

Come to think of it, her hair did look darker today. Maybe it was ACTING darker.

We saw her today in the parade. Emma was yelling as loud as she could but Ari was having way too much fun!:)

I hope we can make it next week. I can't wait to see her theatrical debut.

Can't wait to see the play (T night). Good luck on the hair. If you get desperate, you can always call Julie for a quick spin in her magic chair.
