Cherry Blossoms

Ruby wants a Japanese cherry blossom room. We need help with ideas. She's such a fun artist that I'm going to let her paint the cherry blossoms on the walls. So what color do you think the background should be? And have you seen bedding to match the theme? Should we go Japanese with a shoji screen kind of motif, or Washington-D.C.-in-the-spring kind of thing? I'm thinking Asian feel. And Ruby is leaning toward a blue background, but my vote is light pink, light green or brown. Any ideas?

I vote a lighter tan with pretty pink and dark chocolate accents. Plain pink bedding would be pretty with some accent pillows that have the cherry blossoms on them. Then add a few accessories like the ones in the picture and you are set! I love the idea of a screen. Maybe one made out of rice paper like material! It sounds like it can be really grown up and feminine. I'd love to come and see the finished product!

How cute! She will love it. I wish I could be of help with picking colors, but you have seen my house. I am really bad at decorating. It is not my favorite! Good luck though!

Blue, Pink or Green! :) Actually I am seeing brown and pink everywhere.. so it could be easier to do it that way.. and actually I have a very pretty brown bedspread that is practically new (twin) that you can have if you want... long story.. but let me know.

I love the idea of the Japanese
cherry blossom thing. Ruby and I think a like.. because I just painted cherry blossoms on that owl box. She is so creative. I want to see when she's done!

Carmina Burana was simply amazing I thought. I've never heard it live before and music isn't my speciality.. but was that performance really, really great??! It seemed like it was to me. I loooooved all the soloists too... plus the red dress was soo pretty with sparkles. But the tenor who played the swan! Wow! .. and that part with the pianos and the flutes.. that was very interesting. The choir was amazing! What did you think?

ps. did you get my email about dinner?.. so far only SC has said she could come.. then I talked to Amber and Denise wants us to go down there for a party for Amber in a couple weeks. But I would still love to have dinner if anyone wants to.

Oh and May 26th is perfect for me. :)

That sounds like so much fun. Eliza and Ruby sound like they have a lot in common. They'd have some fun "creating" life! I also loved the beach room--the pictures on the wall were great. HOpe that you are all well. Marilyn and David and kids

Deinfitely the Japanese motif. I served a mission in Japan and grew to love their art. As for the color scheme....anything that reflects peace and harmony would go well with the cherry blossoms. My personal favorite is lt. green. I also commented on your previous blog:)

I think you should go for a pale blue backround with szome wispy clouds.

Here is some "cherry blossom" bedding from pottery barn kids:

Here is one from Layla Grace:

(I have learned the hard way, to find the bedding/fabric FIRST and then choose a paint color--- I'm with Nate though, I love light green)

Oh, that sounds so pretty! I think I like the idea of your color combo. I can hardly wait to see how it turns out. Hey does this mean Rubes is in the basement now? Oh, and that was my Brittany above!
