Summertime List

The Summertime List.  Big success!  We loved the list.  We started out with 81 things, but each kid also came up with their own list, so we ended up doing dozens of things.  "Mom, we have to get snow cones.  It's on my list!"  "Mom, when are we going to go to City Creek?  It's on my list!"  "Mom, can you drive me to the temple?  It's on my list."  Any request that was "on the list" was immediately met with a big "Yes!"  I'm a list person, and I can't stand the thought of an empty box, just longing for a check mark.  Some of the things on the list never would have happened if they hadn't been typed and numbered on the cute sheet Jennie made.  There wasn't one thing on the list that we regretted doing.  It's fun to go back and take another look at our adventures.  It was the best summer of all time.  Was it because of the list?  I don't know, but we're definitely making another list next summer, and it's probably going to be twice as long!  The Grand Canyon is already #1 for Summer 2013.  And here's Summer 2012...

6.  Backyard Camp Out
7.  Southern Utah
8.  Write thank you letters.  Good exercise for the kids, but Golda wrote ten times as many as anyone else to thank everyone for the Rose Parade support.

20.  Kingston to see where ancestors lived
21.  The Ranch

 31.  Star Party...lying in the road at the Lot looking at the Milky Way
