Happy Birthday to Freestone!

Happy 10th birthday to Freestone, a kind, caring, sweet, funny, funny, funny, did I say funny, boy.  We always knew Freestone would be part of our family.  We have family lore that says that when I had a miscarriage after Ruby, it was Freestone.  He went back because Ari wanted to go first and Freestone let her.  The kids think it's funny to think of Ari and Freestone deciding who would go first.  It is fitting that Ari is the big sister.  She loves Freestone.  She said yesterday that he is her best friend.  Whenever they have recess together, she says, all their friends know that Ari and Free will play together.  She told me they walk the track with Freestone's friends, "just talking."  Sheesh, it sounds like morning at a retirement village, not recess at an elementary school.  Shouldn't they be playing baseball or something?  Should we install some shuttleboards and chess tables?

Anyway, the point is, everyone loves Freestone.

Last day of school.  Freestone had a plan to invite his friends to walk downtown and get a corndog at the World's Best Corndog stand.  We didn't invite anyone until the last minute, after school had already ended.  But it worked out perfectly anyway, just like Free knew it would all along.

Anytime an invitation is extended, Free is willing to go, especially with Bill.
Pioneer Day
Scouts is goofy, just like Free.  He looooves when they do those crazy cheers.
Tolly likes to be just like Freestone.

Scott and Freestone love to read together.

What would we do without this boy?  I'm so glad he's ours forever!
