The Unveiling of the Purple Panda Princess Room

Ta-dah! Xanthe's room is clean and ready for friends to play! We don't know exactly what "Purple Panda Princess" means. It's just that when I said, "Xanthe, you're going to change rooms and live in the basement," she balked. "Basement" and "change" were probably bad choices of words to use with a four-year-old. So I waited a few days and said, "Xanthe! The most magical thing is going to happen! You are going to get a new room and it's going to be a...a Purple Panda Princess room!" She liked it. The room was already purple, so I threw in Xanthe's favorite thing, pandas, and the ever-alluring princess theme and I had a sale.

Santa Claus even brought purple panda pajamas to match the room. Those elves can make anything! Ruby and Xanthe finished their panda paintings, but a few more are still in progress. The unicorn tapestry doesn't exactly fit the theme, but it's so beautiful I had to leave it. Now Xanthe can practice piano (we'll have to lower it), draw on her desk and straighten the blankets on her bed to her heart's content. (She tends to take after Uncle Trajan with her extreme neatness. Hey, I'm not complaining! OCD gets things done!)

We love our little Panda Princess. Now she finally has a room as adorable as she is.

Love the room! I love that you let your kids decorate their own rooms. I look forward to the day when my kids are in their more permanent rooms. Right now it just seems like musical rooms while babies continue to come.
