IB Easter Egg Hunt

Jennie and Jenny
Is this an amazing shot or what?  Between all the Dopp cousins and the White kids, we had 22 kids there this week!
Araceli sketches some beautiful things.

I love Ptolemy because he's so enthusiastic.  He has a joie de vivre that bubbles up and spills over, wherever he goes.  Of course, he's also very emotional when it comes to tears.  He can burst out sobbing like his heart is broken over the littlest thing.

This is the little guy that the kids names Crabby Patty.  I don't know what I'm more sad about; that my kids have no imagination or that they named the crab after a Sponge Bob character.

Ptolemy wanted to have an Easter egg hunt on the beach, since we were missing ours at home.  His enthusiasm is contagious, and bought a bunch of supplies at the world's best 99 cent store.  Stuffing the eggs was a fun end-of-day activity in the condo at night.  Even though it almost killed Ptolemy, we waited until all the cousins AND Tyler and Audrey were in town to do it.  Then, just at the appointed time, another group set up an egg hunt right where ours was going to be.  More waiting...
And then it was time!  Nikki, Grandma and Audrey picked up more candy, so the kids made a good haul, despite cute little guys wandering over from the group that had done their hunt already, picking up our candy.  They were so adorable, all dressed up, it was hard to tell them no!  There was one little family, not part of the other group, whose kids were eyeing our loot.  Scott gave them a bunch of stuff and they were thrilled.  That's what I love about Scott.  He is open-hearted and generous.  There was no doubt in my mind that he would share with those little ones.
The Whites arrived just in time for the hunt.  Araceli, Emma, Naomi and Neeley.  Yep, I don't think I mentioned that Jeremy and Jenny came from Phoenix!  They had planned spring break in San Diego, so they spent some of their days in IB with us.  Jer and Jen's family has most of the girl cousins, and Araceli misses them immeasurably since they moved away.  It was so fun watching them have cousin time.  The kids were just in heaven all week long.  The weather was the best we've ever had, so aside from the foray into Mexico, we stuck close to the beach the entire time.  From morning until 5, the kids boogie boarded, looked for shells, dug and trekked to the pier for popsicles.  Then we would order pizza, jump in the hot tub, and look forward to the magnificent sunsets.

and gyro fries.  Oh baby!  All that feta, tzaziki and gyro meat.  It was difficult to fit in all the non-pizza food between the giant pizzas, but we managed.
