Wait, There's More!

The day we left was the Imperial Beach egg hunt.  It was fun, but it reminded me of why we do our own at home.  It was packed!  Only Xanthe managed to get any eggs.  Incidentally, my friend Marie Hall did the egg hunt at home.  I wish we could have been there!

We came in with a chicken bacon garlic ranch and went out with one.  Except we skipped the chicken this time.
On the way out of town, we did Old Town.  Mormon Battalion again.  Whaaat whaat wwhat whaaaaaaaat.  I was bored.  That presentation is 40 minutes long!  I hope Golda doesn't get called there!  But the kids loved it, especially since it wasn't cold when they were panning for gold.

 Scott mimicing Ptolemy's enthusiasm!
I said to Scott, "WELL, we've had a good trip!"  He likes puns.
She finally found her name on something and her mom wouldn't let her buy it.  But I did let each kid pick out a shell from the 5 for a dollar reject bin!

Then there was the worry doll incident.  In a nutshell, Freestone wanted a worry doll.  Then Xanthe wanted one.  I talked to Xanthe about not following the crowd, and how maybe she would see something SHE wanted, so not to just glom onto whatever anyone else wants.  Basically, I was trying to get her to look around and feel relaxed, not so vigilant about missing something.  So when the guy said they could each have one for free, she said no.  Then we left and she wanted one, so we went back.  The guy gave her a paper that explained the tradition, which Xanthe pored over, and it said, "Take one worry doll out..."  She was worried about not knowing what that meant, so I explained that sometimes the dolls come in a box or a bag.  So then she was worried about not having enough dolls for all the worries, since she only had one.  Long story short, we went back and bought a whole box of them.  We're gonna need them.
This kid, on the other hand, is not worried.  She's too busy bossing everyone.
This image is what's going to be in my dreams, until the next time we're back in our home away from home.  And these below are more pics, mostly from Scott's phone...

Katie's Cafe is Scott's tradition with the kids.  He takes a batch of them there each morning.
This is hilarious.  Nana hates dogs!  Coco and Bill took good care of Donny.  He was on drugs the whole time.  Coco took him to the vet for a hurt dew claw, and then doped him up on codeine to "help him rest."  Ha ha!  But seriously, thank, Mom!

I love hanging out with Audrey and Tyler.  They're fun.  Ruby and Tyler skyped with the Argentis in Italy, the family that Tyler arranged for Golda and Ruby to stay with in Venice 2 years ago.  It was fun to hear Tyler speak Italian, and so cool to be skyping halfway around the world.  It used to be we could barely get phone service in IB.

Scott, Ruby and Golda dined during happy hour at the nice Marriott on the beach.

There is a better version of this pic, I just don't know where it is.  Instagram, maybe.  I love it.

Hasta la vista!

Love all the new pics. What a wonderful week. It was charmed for sure with all the great weather, family, food, treats, and fun. Next year can't get here fast enough.
