How Big is the Rose Parade?

So the Davis High band is invited to march in the Rose Parade next year.  The question is, should Golda do it?  Or, more specifically, should she attempt to do marching band, knowing that inevitably, there will be some horrendous scheduling conflicts between two things she cannot miss that will completely stress everyone out?  (i.e.: a repeat of this year.)  Is the Rose Parade worth it?  I mean, isn't it the granddaddy of all parades or something?  Hate to miss out on something like that, but...

Let's take a vote.

Hands down let her do it!!! I'll be honest and say that if you choose not to that in the future you would probably both regret it.

The Rose Parade is HUGE! It's on my bucket list.

My vote is YES, YES, YES!!!

PS - If I vote 10 times does it count for 10 votes? :o)

I vote yes! My sister Brooke was able to do it when she was a senior and it made for a fun trip for all of us. The Rose Parade really is very neat...and talk about a once in a lifetime opportunity! Go Davis!

It's a BIG deal and the chance of a lifetime but it has to work for your family because having a happy family is a BIGGER deal.
I know, that is no help. sorry

I'm torn because I know how busy Golda is. If she was a kid who didn't have other cool things going I would say yes, yes. But I know she does so I guess my vote is yes if she really, really wants it. So I guess I am a weak yes. Don't know how you count that.

I think she should do it and you and Scott go to and/or family go to provided you can. This is like a once in a lifetime opportunity...may sound like "just a parade", but it is huge. The Rose Bowl Parade is a tradition with our nation that people from all over come to view. Big Golda went to the parade years ago as a spectator and she always talked about how great it was..think how even greater to participate in the parade, see the floats made from all kinds of flowers, seeds, etc. To participate in the excitement of something that people from all over are watching let alone on national television. Something to remember that not everyone will get to do in their lifetime even as a spectator. I agree with others this is huge, I even at my age hope to see it in person someday. Good luck with the decision, I vote "yes". XO Tricia
