French Dip Night

Sometimes we dream of a white Christmas, and then sometimes we get one.  If it's going to snow, I love it when it snows mightily, even if it means our activities are at the mercy of the snowplow.
Our tree never got decorated higher than Ptolemy can reach this year, but the parts he could reach got the heck decorated out of them.  He labored all season long to perfect this mash-up of Picasso and Confucius lost in a toy factory.  I loved it.
"Christmas Adam," as it's being called, or Christmas Eve Eve, was the night of our family party. The kids had all bought gifts for each other, and I made Micaela's recipe for French dip sandwiches in the crock pot.  They're so good.  Just throw a pot roast or whatever in the crock pot and add onion soup mix and gravy mix, and water.  In fact, the sandwich recipe was kinda the whole reason for the party.  We needed an excuse to have those sandwiches, and en excuse to use our pretty table.

Seven perfect kids

even if they're not.
Araceli bought these hats in San Francisco for her sisters.
What is this?  I don't know where she got this attitude!  Anyway, the party was great fun, the kids absolutely loved giving each other gifts, and I think a tradition was born.  We'll call it French Dip Night.
