Mission Papers

Golda spent Christmas break filling out her mission papers.  She can turn them in on February 24, and she has a countdown on her phone.  Already, she can't even sleep, thinking about where she might end up.  It's pretty exciting, except for the shots.  Golda is the girl who almost passed out when I sent her an emoji of a heart that swells like it's beating.  Not a real heart, just a heart-shaped emoji.  So real blood is something she doesn't like to see, ever.  she was brave, but turned wax-white, and eventually had to sit down while she was taking her eye exam.  On the plus side, she has excellent vision, even when she's about to pass out!

Golda is a private person, and doesn't exude her feelings in person much.  She's good at writing them down, though.  She did share in church that she had prayed about going on a mission, but wasn't getting an answer.  She decided to just go forward with it, and once she made that decision, she felt good about it.  I think we just have to keep going with faith in the direction we want to go, and Golda is certainly doing that.  She says she feels good, now that Plan B and Plan C are out of the picture.  She is happy focusing on Plan A, which has her leaving on a mission to one of 50 states or 150 countries, sometime this summer.  I'm so proud of Golda for conducting her life so responsibly and thoughtfully.  She is a good example for her siblings and parents, and we love being along for the ride.
