Miss Kaysville-Fruit Heights Pageant

What a fun night experience! Golda wrote all about the Miss Kaysville-Fruit Heights pageant at News from Studio Twelve.  We would never have considered ourselves pageant people, but it was great fun to watch Golda and all the other girls get up on the stage and do their thing.  All of them did such a fantastic job.  I was really proud of Golda for holding her own in such a polished group.  Golda, you carried it off with style!

Golda had her interview with the judges in the afternoon.  She had a list of possible interview questions and practiced her answers extensively every night.  She was prepared and answered the questions nicely.
This is her outfit for the production number that all of the contestants did at the beginning of the show.
Getting ready for the talent portion of the night.  Scherzino by Anderson on the flute.  She played so well!
For the fitness demonstration (instead of a swimsuit competition), Golda chose to wear her ballet clothes and demonstrate a little dancing.  She looked adorable with her wispy bun and was so graceful.
The evening gown competition.  Nikki lent her a dress and Coco altered it.  It was perfect!  Thank heavens for all these helpers.  Thank you both!
Tricia brought flowers and Grandma and Grandpa gave her a journal with her name engraved on it. She had a big group of supporters. Thank you, Grandma and Grandpa, Coco and Bill, Jennie and Lexie, Nikki, Tricia, Neeley, Kayla, Brittany, Michelle, Jen, Sally and Suzanne, Tiffany and crew, Freestone, Ari and Ruby. In the end, there were four contestants for Golda's category, Outstanding Teen, and only three winner spots. The judges decided to have only one attendant instead of two, so that the results wouldn't leave out just one girl. Golda wasn't the winner or the attendant, but she and the other girl who didn't place each got a $50.00 scholarship. Golda also got trophies for Best Platform (Children Expressing Themselves Through the Arts) and Most Photogenic. After it was all over, Golda said she might want to do it again next year, and I'm sure the other girls in the family will follow! In other words, this isn't the last time we'll be hitting everyone up to buy tickets. You have a year to save up!

Wow. Yay for Golda -- she just oozes confidence.

Does Aunt Jenny do appointments? I could really use some help. :)

oops. That was me, deleting my duplicated comment, and adding to the redundancy by telling you so.

What fun! Great job Golda! Since we only have boys, we don't get into all of those girl things, but looks like you had a great time.
